Lots of green goodness....

Celery, fennel and silverbeet.....talk about a bowl of green goodness!

I loved this display of veggies, which I was preparing to chop up to make a nice big pot of vegetable soup.

The best thing about a pot of soup is that it lasts you days, and as each day passes, the thickness and flavour of the soup just keeps getting better. I'm very lazy when it comes to creating in the kitchen, so one dish that lasts me multiple meals suits me just perfectly!

Soups are seriously underrated! Very economical and super-nutritious. Wonderful in winter.

How did it turn out?

Nothing better that a big pot of steaming soup to make the kitchen smell wonderful and to warm your heart on a cold rainy day!

I don't cook so I eat a lot of raw food, like veggies. I love shaved fennel and beets in my salald. Not a fan of celery except when it's cooked to death, like in a gumbo. :-)

What else do you do with your vegetable soup?

Oh for the love of food! said...

Ahhhhh.. soup! would love a bowl right about now.
Soups are always on the menu in the Rode-Chong household during winter. Our family favourite is a soup of preserved Chinese mustard and tomato with meatballs in a Rich Chicken stock.
Belinda, you've done well!

Will you change your blog name to Bel's Soup Bowl now?

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've been a bit lacking in inspiration recently...

Hope you're healthy and happy!

Hi Belinda!

(I'm never sure - should i reply to your question on my blog or yours?) Anyway...

The sox were just an image from the net. Tho I HAVE bought some, a couple of 3 packs which included a pair with subtle stripes and on another a sort of diamond pattern...
Biggest purchase so far was a pair of black jeans from Filippa K, a good Swedish brand (mens and womens). They're quite skinny but not super tight, so they don't have that calf-gripping look that the youngest guys and girls go for here.

Am also considering buying a really cool vintage watch I have seen in a store here. Trying to read up a bit so I know what the price should be. Not easy! But it's kind of a fun world, watches. As is oriental rugs - when you get interested and start to learn more about them, you come to appreciate their beauty.
Should go - am at work and there's lots to do!

All the best,

M.

Y'need more ingredients to make a really rich soup, but leave out the lentils.
